we awaken to light

we awaken to light
when we remove
the darkness disguised
as a luring flickering

how deceiving some are
how pompous to think
we'd fall for a shooting star
ending up only being

the depths of muddy waters
where lotuses bloom
brightening all who see

these eyes cannot go back
to seeing rose petals
where only true grit resides

banish the criminals
stay up all night
the crime is our believing
in monsters and demons

there are only angels---beings of light
all the rest is delusion........
trying to set up camp
in the depths of our heart

we wake up from the nightmare
awakening to just one thing
we're learning to see more clearly
the difference between

the true light that elevates
and the mud which only
brings us down

into the enslaved bottom
feeding on the purity
of innocent rainbows
