the warmth just about robbed us
.
the warmth just about robbed us
of all the strength we began with
a kite never seeing the fourth floor
a balloon never getting out the door
how warm wind and weariness exhausts
the best of intentioned-
we become the pensive
purveyors of self-realization--
restoring the burning beast-
allowing the heron space, at least
to spread her wings
as daydreams cease
on a dime store facade- awnings
only stirred by pigeons at dawn
how silence crept like crazy
at midnight- one could hear
the butter smear from clear
across the house-
a more dense set of molecules
has yet to be found
this summer morning stillness
leaves us hardly moving
on sodden ground when
birds sing plaintive-
we pardon them
so why in heaven's name
we are not as forgiving
to other two footed breathers
is the source of our pensiveness
but still-- the heather moves
with the clover- during a short peak
of wind from the south west
dropping any thoughts
that our life
is some kind
of a test-
we celebrate
the peace- please pass
the sea salt, and tell me
how was your night?
