for emma, and  all the children~ sun cascades on snow, now, almost a memory; like afternoon butter light- shifting into kali's night stars appear to be not that far away--still they flicker- fine-tuning not the wisdom found on ouiji boards, or pop psychology, dished out by PHDs just the sheer innocence, experience based, fueled by the heart....and articulated with purity-- possibly can be the grand opening this nation needs to destroy bigotry and greed a bravery I never saw in my own high school years- the complacent seventies.... muted, and asleep  let's dig in and get deep, let's get messy and real for brighter days ahead, and nights of peaceful sleep  photo/poem~kate lamberg (c) '18

lemons, limes, leaving them behind

Image
"As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn't leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I'd still be in prison." ~Nelson Mandela - lemons, limes, hard times leaving them behind, by the door where white doves are witnessed a new reason for singing celebratory--  kicking heels, and soaring high  above our tense, tongue tied world magnificent minds, & beauteous bodies  do fly!   words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '14

kat-adages

I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it. ~Vincent Van Gogh   a well constructed bridge dances across scary waters fearless learning on the job the difference between making a pencil point, or an erasure intentions for integrity are treasures, beyond sweet buttercup kindness centered on open-aired  theatre:  language,  movement, music, breath suspends  fear, allowing rest! ~words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '15

waking to a dark warm silence

Image
for my father~ waking to a dark warm silence birds begin to sing only after she sips slowly, the first strong cup of coffee-- with thoughts of missing her father-- the rain begins to pour clean upright patterns--to somehow cleanse the salt stream, & to soothe the heart moving towards a greater assemblage still so early- even the birds sing shorter songs she knows somehow the value of brevity no thing in the world could hold more meaning than simply to steep in the growing light listening with a greater intensity leaving her insatiable mind to narrow, melt, vanish without a trace of heavy weeds no longer keeping her from breathing freely so early in the morning, this rain scented air spreads its healing fingers, strokes her temples a testament to time & a learned willingness to begin, without wavering a still lake on fire words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '15

blues blare through a drafty dance studio

cat jumps up,  and warms a dancer's lavender flannel lap sap rises within   the cherry trees three leaps away, as the mercury drops... sun rises in the frigid forgiving march air without a care  to the consequences hardened snow, with frozen leaf chunks let the high winds toss them across the hardened meadow where the live, yet leafless - sweet, yet flowerless cherry trees do breathe the ones that will wait for the opportune time to open their pink soft feminine fragrance, will allow the new baby blossoms to cart-wheel around the yard, around the corner, leaving seeds to bury in the garden-- on the south west corner of this brick long house a sapling to be witnessed -- perhaps without anyone worthy of her beauty to notice it perhaps to be witnessed by   someone who would stop, and bring the buds close to his countenance to whisper "love yous" never heard with so much warm moist breath before  perhaps...
