some times (for the angel of nature)

some times i hear you
kicking up the wind
and the sway of women's skirts

your eyes reflecting the wonder
of blackberries ripened
in the new england sun

most of the time i feel you
as a swath of color enlivening,
an overcast summer afternoon

a soft stream of blues
sparkling white cottony clouds
making mystical what was only

a stream and some clouds--
oh dear angel of nature
deliver us into our summer garden

so filled by your blessings
we become needless--just floating
as the sounds of our own breathing

and the sight of your tireless moving river
are all that need carry us
into an embrace of your grace
