SOUND HEALING -Entering the Sacred ......Classes are forming this Spring, '16. Kate plays her healing compositions on a baby grand piano, interspersed with poetry, silent meditation, and breath work. If interested, please email Kate Lamberg: healerkate77@gmail.com or Next Sound Healing Gathering: Friday, March 18th, at 7PM. RSVP:      healerkate77@mail.com for directions and registration. space is limited, filling up fast! Since birth, the power of  healing sound was all around us. Our parents cooing, singing, reading, a soft wind blowing, or the tea kettle piercing all represent some of our earliest experiences of being bathed in healing sound. Of course we heard other less soothing sounds, as we interacted more in the world: car horns blaring,  leaf blowers wailing,  people screaming. To help balance our own minds and bodies from the onslaught of harsh sounds, as well as stressful situations, we naturally seek a greater quiet....

heart hunches

the light flickers and we must follow it the sky darkens and we notice it the rain pours more loudly and we hear it the imbalances of the world are being healed every moment epiphanies are discovered dancing painting, singing, recreating new brain pathways what questions we ask bring us closer creating from seemingly nothing something new, vital, closer yet to what light does when it has found its home-- living in the profound innocence of who we are ~words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '16

i smelled the beginnings

Image
"If not for you the winter would hold no spring Couldn't hear a robin sing I just wouldn't have a clue, If not for you" ~bob dylan i smelled the beginnings of crocuses opening alongside the road in patches of purple song seeing the robin before we heard her sing got limbs and hearts ready for any blessed thing to hear her song punch an irregular hole in silken silence is to drink to the beat of spontaneous soaring how blessed it is to be understood even before sunrise- how this solitude feels like a sacred string pulling all beings closer just how iris shall spill her petals-- there's more than enough blooms for you and for me words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '15

snow loves trees

Image
"I wonder if snow loves the trees..and fields... It covers them snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep darlings, til the summer comes again." ~Lewis Carrol (photo~kate lamberg (c) '16) while wondering why snow seems to cling to whatever it rests upon-- a soft spiraling of  snow flakes descends clinging to magnolia's nooks and cranies, filling birdbath break dancing on slabs of blue ice coating white picket fence, painting a wicker chair-- moistening my hair the air now still, free of wind the peace is  stabbing me alive with pulsations of positive forward moving how the snow tends to block out the extraneous noise from cars and airplanes, the train of thoughts oftentimes getting in the way of moving at all how the rhythm gets established is none of my business-- mid-day on a monday--presidents' day how divine to have time to gaze at the snow and feeling for awhile the slowing down, the immense purple crown, bubbling up...

we walked for hours

Image
we walked for hours, and still could not view  the river in it's entirety sometimes we saw the thin ribbon of slow moving water in winter, snake towards the north: its sleek cold blue black                                                                                                                         ...

snow, swirling around

Image
snow is swirling around, while wind pounds against the storm windows, and my cats are dashing around-- as if goddess has indeed touched the glass- entered, danced through the vanilla iced air; now dancing with my felines, as if worshiping the cruel finality of any winter we may have held dear- it's clear that spring will come whether or not shadows are painted on the still green grass that rests underneath the few inches of dense wet snow- the one you know your mother has warned you about- waterproof boots are still thirsty, and can't keep secrets, as the imprint prowls distinctively: neither passive, nor daring-- or caring what the next person thinks tethered to the pure pristine glow of a wet february snow- swirling around-- always more blessed than we know words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '16

settling in- lettting quiet braid with sound

Image
"We already have perfect compassion,  perfect wisdom, and perfect joy. We only need to settle our minds,  so they can arise from deep within us." ~buddha how powdered snow falls on its own over layers of ice, practically soundless fierce north easterlies banging bongos and air swept snow, in figure eights, spirals before reaching, without effort- to fall becoming one with an earlier snowfall just the way our past thoughts of regret and worries of the future, freeze purely vanish when sitting- present- dropping the entire time line entering into the mind free zone how powdered snow falls on its own ~words/photo~kate lamberg

"What is it to work with love? It is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart, even as if your beloved were to wear that cloth."~ Kahil Gibran pine  receives snowfall melts into wholeness, pure peace-- bridging mind with heart photo/haiku~ kate lamberg (c) '16

try mirroring the simple sweep

Image
In all things in nature, there is something of the marvelous.~ Aristotle why thinking takes on more weight than any soul needs try mirroring the simple sweep of a willow--as she releases her silvering grey leaves; nothing natural ever interfered with the cerebro-spinal fluid rushing-- both up and down the spine of books, bodies, spheres words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '15

silent worship

Image
"My worship is a blue sky and ten thousand crickets in the deep wet hay of the field. My vow is the silence under their song." ~Thomas Merton to observe without judgement---silently breathing, all beauties transpire to listen so well the vibrations transcend all that mind talk to honor silence as dawn drops cling to morning hydraenga two redwings outside bring us to amazement wide open sky blue chickadees cavort zig zagging chortles along grey blue brook words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '16
