sticky butternut squash

sticky butternut squash bakes
while emma cat purrs
on my flanneled lap

darkness lifting at dawn
scents of holiday foods
bring quiet joys--pooled

with memories of those
who won't be joining
our table this year
(i sigh, and shed a tear)

we shall all meet up
again---in another form
in essence, it's only the form
that changes; in spirit

we are all one
and the same
breath, spark
light, love

She has composed music and written poems specifically for healing. Her musical compositions for piano, and poems are utilized during  the relaxation/meditation portion of the retreat.
