fine line

Image
there's a fine line between what is called steel will and what is called gentle allowing there's a fine line between each golden thread woven within the tapestry of buddha it's the one who changes the course of our blood flow who inspires us to live in this crazy world it's the one who wakes before dawn, splashes cold water on his  or her face and gets to the business of living a life on fire with no reservations that gets my attention alongside morning birds the mad river rising the element of surprising-- even the flattened rocks, who've witnessed this cycle of rising & lowering how water rock air sun mingle pure mystery awakens! words and photo~ kate lamberg..(c) '14

i awoke at 5:30 am

Image
I woke at 5:30 am, with a smile and a good dream. Sitting up in bed to meditate, I took a peak through my green and blue curtains. The sky was a soothing cream with splashes of muted pink. The colors and shapes, like fragments of unneeded thoughts, seemed to be moving to the east and then towards the southern sky.  Sitting upright in meditation I visualized the colors in the center of my forehead. At one point I felt a tingling. Pinks, softening to whites. Upon opening my eyes, I took another peak through the curtains. The pinks I saw only fifteen minutes before seemed to have completely disappeared. One vast bright white canvas before me... How will I choose to paint my day? With courage, and creativity. With respect and gratefulness for my ancestors, to whom have given me LIFE!  ~amen! ~(words and photo by kate lamberg..(c) '14)

sometimes

Image
purple iris photo by kate lamberg..(c) '14 sometimes she was known to fall in love with a voice and when he'd show up all dapper and clean she'd dismiss him as being too much this or too much that sometimes he was falling for her cello, with heart holes shot by hand by his electric eyes spies live best in subterranean abodes they know how quiet shifts attention from all that explodes and a serene behind the scenes riot shopping for wild ginger, and eucalyptus she took a peak down the middle aisle at the guy selling geraniums he did not even test feel the soil just poured all his emotions through one green plastic hose, tugged over from the pool dept; there's a sale on kidney shaped pools--- and they'll throw the model in.... with a straw hat, and unbreakable kitschy plates for no extra fee--- you haul down the dim aisles of pre-summer conscience left out without sunscreen such burning candor leaves a hole in the ceiling ...

returning home

Image
for my dear dad returning home, heavy heart pulled to the earth of beginning blossoms somehow spirit brings a lighter step viewing sugar magnolias, remembering how fathergifts are presented over years how the truest of tears encourage growth of flowers express my changing soul through dark damp days and flowered hours grief in layers, removed in time shiny sparkle of how he would like his loved ones to continue grateful and blessed---beyond the furthest shore echoes     love shown in april green possible only where selfish lifts, allowing the truest of what oneness means- to be caught, & wholly seen
