returning home

for my dear dad

returning home, heavy heart pulled
to the earth of beginning blossoms
somehow spirit brings a lighter step

viewing sugar magnolias, remembering
how fathergifts are presented over years
how the truest of tears

encourage growth of flowers
express my changing soul
through dark damp days and flowered hours

grief in layers, removed in time
shiny sparkle of how he would like
his loved ones to continue

grateful and blessed---beyond
the furthest shore echoes
 love shown in april green

possible only where selfish lifts,
allowing the truest of what oneness
means- to be caught, & wholly seen
