let's meet beyond thoughts

Image
"The deepest level of communication is not communication, but in communing-- beyond words and concept." Thomas Merton let's meet beyond thoughts that weigh down the summer air can we be silent together for just five minutes, simply breathe the warm summer air-    listen to the nesting birds who move here more quietly than usual   let's just sit together, simply breathe the warm moist gusts,    dancing over the lake at dawn-  the peace crocheting our souls more tightly together-   each of us, one beautiful spark, among the whole bonfire- shining a powerful, and lasting peace! words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '16

how the surf sweeps

Image
how the surf sweeps clean those fearful beams felt in a restless sleep bringing souls to realize new born eyes to keep-- the soft curve of a learned love scooping up a child, free from ocean waves' danger trust tethered, stronger than that crashing wave wherever we are, we can become-- our own home of the brave words/photo~ kate lamberg (c) '16

some times (for the angel of nature)

Image
some times i hear you kicking up the wind and the sway of women's skirts your eyes reflecting the wonder of blackberries ripened in the new england sun most of the time i feel you as a swath of color enlivening, an overcast summer afternoon a soft stream of blues sparkling white cottony clouds making mystical what was only a stream and some clouds-- oh dear angel of nature deliver us into our summer garden so filled by your blessings we become needless--just floating as the sounds of our own breathing and the sight of your tireless moving river are all that need carry us into an embrace of your grace ~words and photo~kate lamberg (c) '14

listening to trees in the sanctuary

Image
"Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth." ~ Herman Hesse She loved to study the blanket of clouds resting in between branches of trees. Wondering how the blinding brightness of cloud would take a rest before dancing through more patches of sky blue.. would occupy long stretches of her mental gymnastics. Sometimes, she would listen intently to how different trees would sing varying songs. A northeasterly wind through low pines chants haunting melodies, while the soft baby green beginnings of willow branches sing sacred whispers. Dogwoods inhabit soft feminine ruffling melodies. At times she would try to sing with each tree as a way to resonate with their very essence. Usually, she just listened, cross legged upon the pine needled forest floor. When the wind died down, she might take that as a sign to lie down, and patiently wait for the next upsurge of a new born wind from ano...
