turtle medicine

Image
"The grateful heart sits at a continuous feast" Proverbs 15:15 In loving acknowledgment for the spirit within "turtle nation". turtle medicine shows up by the pond mid morning seemingly struggling for a safe spot in the sun wearing his years proudly he remembers the melody that hums in low tones- "hold onto the core of my limitless magnificence" as a tiny baby's breath becomes wind for a turtle lubbering from palatable pond to solid earth-- the exercise, flexing inherent mirth for another hundred years of gratitude--gardenias line the path of rebirth words and turtle photo by kate lamberg (c) '14

chagallian dreams

Image
kissing backwards as we did drift out the window--our shoes, intact... alighting on the western wind how we sailed clearly above the city's din--trailing colors left in our wake- without words we flew above the huge aspens, the shallow lake- no mistake then we flew back in reverse-- like an upside down tarot card: no worry, no curse--how the evening light loomed, and did serve several cups of jasmine tea- along with borscht and blinis savored-- just how we painted the town red poem~kate lamberg (c) '16....google imago

sometimes, in summer

Image
sometimes, in summer we would follow the river, studded with tiny harmless fish with small shiny mica paths- watching stones tossing in the sparkling catskill sunlight only to fall where her crispness underfoot, makes fragrances like sandlewood and patchouli while winter brings mica stones sitting cold below the layers of heavy snow to dream of that celebrated spring when river does all the gushing and then to follow with the height of summer where she becomes an endless dancer a forever lover swishing at the peak of her power to shine-- making music become divine-- and silence, a stumbled upon miracle words/photo~kate lamberg (c) '16

what silence

Image
what silence is for a church mouse makes a music, known to pines when darkness sets in---the moans and creaks of cedar bark, and curves of earth--bound on a single silver thread a broken bird's wing--directed towards wholeness has a way of re-calibrating the essential--no longer lingering on clam shells and poppies, long over their peak in the meadow of benevolence; how we breathed without a single rehearsal, how the softest whale song emitted an electric blue energy so close to the edge of the high tide mark and the cypress, leaning in towards the shaded pine province exactly at sunset when the quiet was deafening and the mild blue sky air would wrap garlands of unpredictable joy seeping from the now rising creek-- a lizard's tongue reaching its mouthpiece clear through the still unconcerned pond kate lamberg~fall, '14 edited 3-29-'16 (c)
